  1. Thanks! Chris, for featuring female pilots. I’ve been so pleased to see more and more female pilots on United Express (our local carrier) and United over the years. I sometimes take the time to tell them when I see them, Kathy

    • General Timmons is a dynamic, leadership-oriented person and I think that really comes across in this interview. One of the things she said really makes sense when it comes to moving ahead in any endeavor. She said you “have to work hard at it, and be good at it.” That’s key–especially in flying: “either/or” won’t do.

Like Bee Haydu, she’s breaking new ground. They make it look easy, but they’re both examples of hard work AND being good at what they do.

  2. Hey Chris……Lucky me…. to finally get through to comment…..!!!
    Excellent……Interview………..!!!

first I want to Thank General Carol Timmons for her service!!!!!!!!

    I am Proud as hell…….to be a woman…..but mostly I am proud………to be an American…….!!

With dedication like hers…….and any man or woman…….may listen here…..and maybe see themselves through her eyes, so speak…………….And….. yes Work Hard…..and stay focused!!!!!
the skies the limit……..but you have to do the Work!!!!!!

funny her story of when she knew she would became a C-130 pilot……The Sun showed her the way, ..never go wrong…….following the Sun………….:)

She has Blaised quite a trail for others to follow…..

    And the icing…..on the cake……..she’s a 767 Airline pilot…….

I think going through a ‘merge’…..with another airline will prove to be just as harrowing…as a tour in Afghanistan…….maybe….
    She’s decicated….She has the Passion…..
    What a teacher…….
    Wish I was younger……….I would enlist today…….after listening……
    again…..Thank You General Carol Timmons……
    and Thanks Captain Chris…….for sharing………!!!!

    MissTWA

Great interview! As an average airline passenger who just goes for the ride, I was fascinated to listen to her perspective about life in the cockpit. Dedicated, persevering, knowledgeable, articulate, pioneering, inspiring: just a few words I would use to describe this aviator!

I don’t leave a ton of comments, but after reading a few of the remarks on JetHead Live:

I actually do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind.

Could it be only me or does it look as if like some of these responses
look like they are coming from brain dead visitors?
😛 And, if you are posting on other social sites, I’d like to follow everything fresh you have
to post. Could you make a list of all of your public
sites like your Facebook page, twitter feed, or linkedin
    profile?

    • Brain dead? Not really: people say what they want to say.

My Twitter feed is linked to the right of the JetHead home page, and the only other aviation forum I participate in is and I believe everyone is welcome to read posts.
